Hello! 2020 has brought out allllll the moods and changes, I truly hope that we as a collective are staying healthy, productive and still striving to know better so we can all do better!
This is a picking up where I last left off post, many wonderful chapters have begun amidst the challenges and if I am being taught anything at all (trust there a long list) it is living allllll, I mean ALL of my wildest dreams.
I have recently crossed over to Real Estate and in true Taurus fashion, as the bulls that we are, I am all head and heart into this hustle. I have been managing short term rentals for several years now in addition to my freelance beauty styling career and somewhere in my late 30’s I have now full heartedly decided to open and entertain the realm of endless opportunities with investing, building, developing, designing.
Please follow and support my page on instagram and I will be updating you more platforms I’ll be revolving on.
During this quarantine I have devoted some deep thinking and dove right into my habits and have been constantly rewiring my inner being to arrive at a prime level. Since the shut down, I have been developing and fine tuning my focus and getting to know an activator role as a signature strength.
I googled a quick “how to tap in mentally and flip the switch.”
Here are six ways to maximize your strengths:
realize your natural (known) strengths. …
identify your hidden strengths. …
strengthen your strengths. …
manage your weaknesses and limit your learned behaviors. …
daily reflection. …
beware of overdone strengths.
These may seem like just words on a page however I encourage you to seek and get to know your own signature strengths! There are unlimited sources out there in the inter webs and the two websites I decided to partake in are Clifton Strengths via the recommendation of a wellness conference I attended last year and Via Institute per the recommendation of my Yale professor.
Anyways, I have been actively pursing a more wholesome and active lifestyle. I’ve kept some vices but I have been stricter about my cheat day and choices. Having limited access to what my norm is totally fine. It’s part of the reboot and restarting process.
The lack of what has been consuming my time, maybe not even of the healthiest of ways has been replaced with the awareness that when one knows better, one does better.
That morning started out on high alert. Our staff was prepped and primed with the unfolding of this novel corona virus. We were told that our store would tentatively open until 8/9pm instead of its usual 11pm.
Hours later, a few minutes short of 6pm, management came on the floor with a very concerned look on their faces and ordered everyone to finish their purchases and head out of the building. No one could answer our questions let alone fill us in what’s going on.
That was the last day I was working, in Waikiki.
Later we heard that we had a possible infected staff with covid 19, but its turns out to be pneumonia. Still. It was enough to prompt a proper and swift shut down.
I stayed another week in Oahu until with the urgent persistent for me to get out there and get situated at my isolated cabin, far far far away from the heightened security and lockdown that will soon take over the island.
Im listening to the rain pour over here in Puna with chorus of coqui frogs in the near and far distance.
The uncertainty of it all, these current times is mind boggling and I am doing my best to cope. I have taken upon myself to indulge in everything I have not made time for. Something as simple as reading a book that was gifted to me, two years ago by a client, putting my health and fitness forefront and at the end of this ordeal, I’m coming out stronger and focused!
As part of this collective, I am choosing to see the brighter side of this pandemic. I believe that its way for us to really look within ourselves and reset the programming which we have blindly been running on.
Stopping to smell the roses and planting a few more, AJ
I hope you are all taking the time to just be. I know it’ll take some time to adjust to the light and shadows of our current events so the best thing to do is just go with the flow!
WE all have the ideal scenario in our minds but we have to understand that in these present times, its best to be grounded but flexible AF.
These unprecedented times have allowed me to knock a few things off my list of things I’ve always wanted to do if I have ever been given the time.
This time around, as I’ve lived a few quarantine lives, I have am well equipped with the awareness of what my soul and family needs. There are certain levels of activity, both independently and as a unit that needs to be learned and refined.
On this particular morning, I have found the a harmonius delight of slow serving myself to a home made cup of coffee, something I have not done in too long, (years if I am wanting to be transparent here)
So take this time to reset, relax and replace those habits you’ve always wanted to alter or change.
I was feeling the urge to shift and soar this lunar eclipse, blood-wolf-moon. Weeks prior to arrival I have been actively and mindfully practicing the mental changes that I willl need to establish as I grow into a new space.
I usually indulge in my own full moon gathering, however for the thrill of trying something new, I attended my first wise women full moon gathering in Kaimuki Studio in Oahu Hawaii and was so glad I did!
The evening started with gazing at the moon, feeling its presence and proceeded into a guided meditation and journaling by the most amazing hostess Jenny.
The questions left me asking the deepest and darkest parts of myself to come through so I can acknowledge and accept it as part of my healing.
I was misguided by my own self limiting beliefs that hindered my growth so I put out my desires into the universe and I have been receiving its deliberate signs since then.
We shared throughout the evening and encouraged one another with our truths. To live our highest selves, to find our gifts in the process and share that more with the world.
I was hesistant to share at first but realized that this has been the gathering I have been waiting for. A non judgement free zone that we are all able to heal for our health.
I met a lot of inspiring women and as I picked my angel card of Aphrodite, the goddess of Love, I will surely ignite my own inner goddess and live in the will of playfulness wisdom and divinity.
I am silently calling on the goddesses and angels to help guide me in the transition process and let the millennial masterplan unfold itself.
Never say never. Shocking my own self just in case I start dwelling on the shit show saga I just survived.
My very dear friend and life colleague shared with me what could possibly be the life changing moment we both had. Of course I’ll be vague here just in case I end up acquiring an audience as the beauty of reading a real life chapter to my life, you’ll get to watch it unfold.
Commitment and Resilience is about to meet its match, AJ
Freshly grounded kona coffee & island grown cannabis helps fuel the morning meeting of the minds. A good way to gauge the and measure the energy of your being and others is, come as you are and if the frequencies create uplifting harmony, then lets make music! If its the opposite, we are well equipped in re-evaluating the session and resume on another time and space.
These days I understand the daily demands of doing more, more, more! It’s also important to unplug and excuse yourself from time to time. I don’t want to be overstimulated than I have too…and this goes the same for you.
